Kaylor started swimming lessons today through the city's aquatics program.
It was funny when he first caught sight of the pool, he got so excited he almost jumped in. Unfortunately for him, we had to put our towels away first, so he started to cry as I pulled him towards the benches.
For the most part, he was quite annoyed during the lesson. Mainly because he couldn't wander and socialize with the other kids. He was already quite comfortable in the water and didn't mind it when I tried to get him to float on his stomach. Since he's never floated on his back, the instructor suggested I sing "twinkle twinkle little star" to distract him while I put his head on my shoulder and had him float in this new position. And it worked. It distracted him so much that he got really comfortable, tilted his head to the side, and relaxed his arms. We all thought he was going to nap right then and there.
Silly child.
It should be interesting to see what other things we'll learn in the next 8 days.
