Narcissistic child....

Alright, anyone who ever thought I was bad and liked to look in the mirror at myself you should see this kid. Sometimes the only way to calm him down is to get him in front of a mirror. Every time you put him in front of a mirror he instantly starts to smile and stare at himself. A lot of time he will reach out to touch the mirror and sometimes even kiss what he sees staring back at him. I guess he is just like his dad, but I never remember kissing myself in the mirror because I thought I was good looking. This kid just likes the way he looks too much I guess.

hyper before bedtime

This is a video we took of Kaylor before he went to bed a few nights ago.

We miss his cheery attitude, especially now that he's just been cranky from being sick (although chewing on ice chips seem to help him out a lot)... we really hope he gets better soon.

sick!

We figured something was out of the ordinary today. Kaylor has been unusually cranky since last night and will only want to be held... Although he was pretty chirpy before bedtime.

And sure enough, he has a fever this morning: 101.5.

boing boing

We were at Disneyland this weekend with Nick's mom. It was great to hang out with her ,and Nick and I were able to finally get back on rides together.
*
The one thing that kept Kaylor's attention (and drove Nick insane in the process) is the bedroom door stop at our hotel.

(and I'm glad I haven't gotten in trouble yet for letting Kaylor boing away)

need a potty strategy

(warning! possible graphic descriptions ahead. :D)

We started feeding Kaylor normal food (applesauce, peas, cheerios, etc) on a regular basis now. It's great because it's not a hassle (for me anyway haha), and Kaylor gets to eat along with us during mealtimes.

But we didn't foresee the impact it would have on his digestive tract. Oh my goodness. It's not as messy, but holy cow, you can smell him from a mile away (we jest, maybe a few feet at most haha). Plus, it's really messing with our diaper budget. GAH.

I'm to the point where I am really considering potty training, because it's just ridiculous how many diapers we go through...

Favorite cherry

Brian and Alia came to visit this past weekend. It's been a few months since we've last seen them; Kaylor was still pretty immobile then.

In fact, he didn't recognize them when they first came. Kaylor started to cry when Brian first picked him up. But they started to bond soon enough.

In fact, there was one instance when Kaylor crawled right past me to chase after Brian in the front room... talk about getting reprioritized :P. hehe.

He loved hanging with Alia too, and kept trying to get her attention...

Thanks guys for watching him so we can go on a quiet date for once. :).
