I figured something was amiss today since Kaylor was unusually more clingy than usual, plus he didn't fight his naps (and even welcomed an additional one).
Sure enough, he has a fever. :(
It seemed to have peaked right after we took his temperature earlier in the night though. We gave him some milk in a bottle to hydrate him, and halfway through, he stops drinking and spews all over. Burps. Then gives us his gummy grin after we hold him close.
He was back to his cheery and active self by bedtime (half an hour later).
(we wondered if he caught a bug in UT. The drastic change in weather must have really shocked his system... loss of sleep probably didn't help either)

one last huzzah
Our flights were ending today so we jetted off to Utah last weekend for our last getaway. We had a blast seeing old friends, and Nick relished the chilly weather.
some highlights:
Kaylor loved the dog (apparently he doesn't mind getting licked and giggles every time)

(video here)
Here's father and son chilling at the Kennecott Copper Visitors Center

Bonding with Brynn (they're almost exactly a year apart)

Lowlights:
None of us got much sleep. Kaylor was up from 2:30 to 5:30am the first night. Just was too wired - the downside of sharing a room with him.
Second night was a little better, but we all still didn't get a full night's rest.

terrified?
Nick got a trampoline off craigslist tonight. He figured Kaylor would actually like the bouncing sensation.
Not so much. He freaked out and just wanted Nick to hold him...

Groggy
Nick's sister Ry came over to help watch Kaylor this weekend. Unfortunately, Kaylor decided to take full advantage of her visit by keeping her up until 4am every night.
Yikes.
Sorry Ry. And thanks so much for watching him. :)

family time
Since our flight privileges are running out soon, we tried for quick visit to family in the bay area.
It was cool to see everyone and see how much more interactive Kaylor is with them. He seemed to have a blast though, and enjoyed all the new toys (thanks Papa & Judi) and new tricks (thanks Auntie KK :D) he picked up.

(a little too squirmy for his Great-Great-Grandma)

(w/ greatPapa. :D )

rice crackers
Kaylor found Nick's stash of norimaki rice crackers (crackers wrapped in seaweed) earlier today. He seemed to really enjoy them, so I let him keep eating them.

It was all good and dandy until the nori wrappers started getting all gooey, and that's when Kaylor realized, "wow, these things stick to the wall and make cool designs."
(thanks Papa & Judi for the crackers. All of us love em :D).
