Favorite cherry

Brian and Alia came to visit this past weekend. It's been a few months since we've last seen them; Kaylor was still pretty immobile then.

In fact, he didn't recognize them when they first came. Kaylor started to cry when Brian first picked him up. But they started to bond soon enough.

In fact, there was one instance when Kaylor crawled right past me to chase after Brian in the front room... talk about getting reprioritized :P. hehe.

He loved hanging with Alia too, and kept trying to get her attention...

Thanks guys for watching him so we can go on a quiet date for once. :).

mmm sugar

Kaylor got some swipes in on Nick's creation today. (can you believe Nick made a two-layer cake and actually decorated it for me. hahah.)

(Thanks Nick and Kaylor for the bags of chocolate, gelato, and skull candy ear buds. So cool.)

He's so random

Trying to suck on the nail? I really don't know...

bubbles

Nick said I've been slacking off on this blog (even though he also has author rights, he still waits for me to post haha).

Anywho, here's a fun video of Kaylor interacting with bubbles (well, more so with the bubble blower... anywho, you'll see what I mean).

(will probably start backdating posts soon...)

Ooo wind

We were out for a walk on Sunday when the wind picked up quite a bit. A storm was brewing a few miles away from us.

Kaylor raised his arms up and with a smile on his face felt the wind push his hands away.

(As I type this, I realize, it's one of those things where you just had to be there)

It's really amazing to watch him get those 'aha' or this case, 'whoa' moments.

bay area visit

At the last minute, we had to go to the bay area last weekend. We were in Oakland for most of the time, Nick at the temple, while Kaylor and I hung out at the visitor's center.

I now know that long sleeve shirts, no matter how good they look on him, at this age isn't the most practical outfit. Within the hour, I've had to change him to a normal onesie since his sleeves and collar were soaked. He was sucking on them every moment he could.

Afterwards we visited Nick's relatives in San Mateo. Kaylor was quite hesitant at first to approach anyone, but soon he warmed up to everybody, especially to cousin Dylan (thanks Dylan for being such a great sport even after all the hair pulling and ear poking:D)

He was especially very intrigued with Tenchi. At one point, when Tenchi tried to give him 'kisses', Kaylor smacked his lips trying to figure out the flavor hahah...

lazy...or creative?

Nick says lazy. I want to say creative since it's definitely cool to observe how Kaylor react to situations...

Since it's been crazy hot again the past few weeks, not to mention the humidity (it's 109 and rising as I'm typing this), we've been giving Kaylor water in a sippy cup every now and then throughout the day. With the heat and his constant movement (there's not a moment where he's not crawling or getting into things, well maybe during nap times...), he gets pretty dehydrated.

Well yesterday, Nick filled up the cup to a level much more than usual and handed it to Kaylor. Yeah, it was a little too heavy for him to bring up to his mouth. So he went for a different solution.

Plop the cup on the ground and try to drink from it while sitting. I don't know if he was able to get a drink, but at least he tried. :). We finally had to help lift it up to his lips...

funny child.
